Monsoon Tree Plantation campaign 2016 to be launched on August 10

Islamabad: July 13, 2016 Member Environment of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sanaullah Aman has said that on directions of Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal, participation of the people from all walks of life would ensured to make up-coming Monsoon Tree Plantation Drive a success. Special arrangements have been made to ensure the proper growth of the saplings to be planted in upcoming monsoon tree plantation drive so that green character of Federal Capital could be further enhanced.

Member Environment CDA said this while chairing a meeting at CDA headquarters held to finalize the arrangements of upcoming Monsoon Tree Plantation Drive. The meeting was attended by Director General Environment and other senior officers of concerned formations of the authority.

The meeting was informed that Monsoon Tree Plantation campaign would be launched on August 10, 2016 at open area of Rose and Jasmine Garden and in this regard, a colourful launching ceremony has been planned which would be participated by the people from different walks of life particularly by the students of different educational institutes. The meeting was informed that famous personalities, celebrities from showbiz and other areas are also expected to participate in the launching ceremony. The meeting was informed that during Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 300,000 saplings of different species would be planted all over the city. The meeting was also briefed that during the up-coming Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign special attention has been given forest area. Furthermore, 15,000 fruit trees would also be planted at Lake View Park during monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign. 

Member Environment, directed the officers of Environment Wing to finalize arrangements of Monsoon Tree Plantation Drive-2016 at the earliest so that desired result could be achieved. He further directed the concerned formations to take consolidated steps so that maximum survival of the saplings could be ensured. | Read more
